Our bees are Red Mason Bees and they feed on the Dandelions in the garden. According to Wikipedia: "They
are named from their habit of making compartments of mud in their
nests, which are made in hollow reeds or holes in wood made by
wood-boring insects." Unlike honey bees and bumble bees, Red Mason
bees are solitary and they don't produce honey or beeswax. It's
fascinating to see them at work as they make themselves comfy, preparing
to overwinter.
